Popular Tamil comedian Santhanam has been confirmed as the main lead in the Tamil remake of the Telugu film 'Maryada Ramanna'. The comedian will reprise the role of Sunil from the original. This is only the second time after 'Arai En 305-il Kadavul' that Santhanam is acting in a film as hero. The remake is expected to go onto floors from August.
This is the second time that 'Maryada Ramanna' is being remade. This SS Rajamouli directed venture was earlier remade in Hindi starring Ajay Devgn in the lead. It released for Diwali last year in Hindi where it competed successfully with another biggie 'Jab Tak Hai Jaan' starring Shah Rukh Khan.
