Rajnikanth's Lingaa Audio Review- Essentially Stylish

Lingaa is an upcoming entertainer starring Superstar Rajnikanth, Sonakshi Sinha and Anuksha in lead roles. Jagapati Babu is featured in a special role in the film as well. The film is directed by K.S.Ravikumar who gave some great blockbusters to Superstar such as Muthu earlier. Music for the film is composed by Mozart of Madras A.R.Rahman and here is an exclusive audio review of the album:

The most anticipated album begins with Wo Rabba Rabba sung in great vigor by S.P.Balasubrahmanyam. It has been a tradition for SPB to sing every introduction song of Superstar till date and he doesn’t disappoint with this track. With a peculiar Arabic flavor interspersed with House Mix sequencing, this track has a peculiar aura associated with it.

Monaa Monaa is a potpourri of Rap, Stylish vocals and gripping guitars. The syncopated rhythm acts as a highlight for this track making it thoroughly enjoyable. The interludes are trendily composed with Far East flute and interesting riffs.

The album turns patriotic with Indiane Raa comprising of typical Rahman styled symphonic progression and impactful vocals by Haricharan. The lyrics are inspirational and the composition is made with great passion having guitars, string section and masterful chord progression.

It is time for a relaxing duet O Manmadha having great guitars, typical chord progressions and neat strings. The rhythm section is yesteryear styled but the vocals by Adithi have the irresistible Tamil flavor. The interludes have a distinguished Hindustani Flavour which is presented well.

The stylish album gets to the finale with another gripping solo Satyame Shivamu sung by the talented Haricharan. The track has a convincing blend between Western Classical and Indian flavor. The lyrics are poetic and make a good impact on the listener. Haricharan pulls it off with his classy vocal rendition.

Verdict:

Lingaa is an out and out stylish album from the successful combination of Rajnikanth- A.R.Rahman and K.S.Ravi Kumar. The album has good blend of melody, inspiration and peppiness in right proportions. However, certain tracks have the Tamil flavor which could have been avoided.

Rating: 3.25/5
