During the late seventies, it is heard that Darsakaratna Dasari Narayana Rao wanted to do a movie titled Narthaki with the everlasting beauty Jayaprada. But at the same time K Viswanath arrived with Sankarabharanam and once this happened, Dasari reportedly withdrew the idea of Narthaki.
However, it is heard that recently he was approached by the media and asked “Are you planning to do Narthaki now? For this, the veteran filmmaker reportedly said “No, I am unable to find someone as naturally beautiful and competent like Jayaprada now so no thoughts of reviving Narthaki again.”
