KGF gets a huge shock on the big day

Sandalwood film KGF has been creating ripples in the industry and the small film's great buzz is surprising even the biggers. What came as a shot in the arm is none other than Baahubali maker Rajamouli showered praises on this Yash's starrer saying he would like to watch the film on its release day.

However ahead of its release on Dec 21, the KGF makers got a huge shock when a Bengaluru civil court ordered an interim stay over the film's release increasing doubts on the film release. The makers planned a grand release across 400 theatres in Karnataka and more than 1500 theatres across the world.

While discussions are on whether the film will release today, a Bengaluru lawyer said that producers can release the film as they didnot get the court notices. Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale films and Lakshmi Narayana of Arya films along with two other persons A Yogesh and Ratan S, filed separate petitions in the court accusing the KGF makers of defaming the popular Kolar Goldfields.

They objected to the caption used by the makers which ran 'from the streets of Mumbai to the bloody gold mines of Kolar'. They asked for the interim injunction on the KGF film's release claiming that the film is inspired by Thangam, a rowdy who now owns the rights for that story. The 10th additional metropolitan magistrate court in Bengaluru ordered stay against KGF release and posted the case for Jan 7th next year asking the producers to appear infront of it.
