Director Kodi Ramakrishna Is No More

Veteran director Kodi Ramakrishna, who is popular for directing a hundred films till now, passes away on Friday after suffering from an infection in his lungs. The director had not been keeping well and wasn’t seen in any public events too since a long time. He also had a paralysis stroke from which he slowly recovered.


The noted filmmaker was admitted to a hospital in Gachhibowli for feeling breathless and was kept in the ICU with life supporting system, before taking his last breath, is what his manager has reported. Kodi Ramakrishna is also a popular and acclaimed screenwriter and filmmaker. He has been in the industry for more than three decades now and has made his debut in the early 80s. Since then, he has directed more than 100 films in different genres. His different style of making films has been appreciated many times.


He was also featured in films like Dongaata, Aasti Mooredu Aasha Baaredu, Attagaaroo Swagatam, Inti Donga and Mudilla Muchata. The veteran director even won the Raghupati Venkaiah Award for his contribution for Telugu cinema in 2012 and last helmed a devotional drama in 2014. He directed films like Goodachari No 1, Mangamma Gari Manavadu, Muddula Krishnaiah, Station Master, Bharat Bandh, Ammoru, Pelli, Devi, Puttintiki Ra Chelli, Anji, Arundhati and others. His last film as a director was Nagarahavu (2016).
