This Director Wanted To Cast Prabhas In A Homosexual Role

Prabhas is one of the most masculine actors in the Indian film industry. But do you know that an acclaimed filmmaker wanted to cast him for a homosexual role? Yes, internationally acclaimed writer-director Deepa Mehta wanted Prabhas to play a homosexual role in her new film Funny Boy.

According to the sources, Deepa tried to approach Prabhas for this role but failed in various attempts. As she was unable to reach the actor, she finally gave up on him. Apparently, she has also approached actors like Madhavan and Siddharth but even they have turned down the offer. Eventually, Deepa made the film with newcomers.

Funny Boy is an adaptation of the 1994 novel of the same name. Rehan Mudannayake, Arush Nand and Brandon Ingram have played the main roles in the movie. It will stream soon on Netflix. Deepa Mehta is popular for directing films like Fire, Earth, Water and Midnight's Children. On the other hand, Prabhas is now busy with films like Radhe Shyam, Salar, Adipurush and an untitled film with Nag Ashwin.
