Thalaivi: Can Kangana grab one more National award

Even less than a day of her National Award announcement, Kangana Ranaut came up with the trailer of her new film Thalaivi.

Going by trailer, it looks like she will get another National Award for sure, for her performance in this movie. Thalaivi is a biographical drama based on the life of a former actress and ex-Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Jayalalitha. The film traces the life of Jaya from her initial days till her death. We all are aware of the roller-coaster journey of Jaya.

Kangana looked like a perfect fit for the role because she is able to emote each and every scene very well. There's also a dialogue on the perspective of North Indians on South Indians. We already witnessed Ramya Krishna in Queen webseries where she played Jayalalithaa's character but this movie is an official biopic of the actress turned politician. It is sure that Kangana has put a potential performance that can earn her another National Award. With four already on her kitty, if she can achieve this, it will be a big boost to her career. Thalaivi features Aravind Swami in the role of yesteryear Superstar MG Rama Chandran. Samuthirakani, Nassar, Bhagyashree and Madhu Bala played the other important roles of it.

The screenplay of the film is penned by Baahubali writer K. Vijayendra Prasad. AL Vijay is the director of this project. Thalaivi is all set to have a pan-India release on April 23 in multiple languages.
