R Narayana Murthy arrested in Hyderabad

Popular activist and filmmaker R. Narayana Murthy was arrested by Hyderabad Police this morning. He was arrested while extending his support to the 'Chalo Raj Bhavan' rally held by the Telangana farmers in protest of the new farm bills introduced by the central government. It is already known that the Government of India introduced new farm bills a few months back. Since then, farmers across the country are protesting against the passing of this bill and are demanding the government to scrap it.

Initially, the government of Telangana opposed these new laws but eventually, it took an u-turn and supported the central government. Condemning the passing of these bills, the farmers of Telangana held the Chalo Raj Bhavan rally today in Hyderabad. Narayana Murthy extended his support by participating in the rally. The cops have stopped protestors from blocking Raj Bhavan and arrested them.

Narayana Murthy was one of them. Speaking at the incident, he said that these new laws are not going to help farmers in any way. He reminded how Bihar's farm laws of 2006 were backfired in the state. Thus, he demanded the central government to scrap these laws as soon as possible.
