Why Balakrishna skipped the Presidential polls

Voting for the presidential poll has finally wrapped up on Monday. Home Minister Amit Shah, PM Narendra Modi, Congress leader Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and many other MLAs and MPs cast their votes at the parliament house.

Coming to Telugu states, election officials have announced that 173 MLAs have voted out of 175 MLAs in Andhra Pradesh in the presidential election polling.

Surprisingly, both the MLAs who did not cast their vote are from Telugu Desam Party itself. While one among them is Hindupur MLA Nandamuri Balakrishna who hadn't attended voting because of his hand injury, the other MLA is Gorantla Buchaiah Chaudhary who was in America and was unable to attend the voting.

While 150 MLAs of the ruling party voted in Amaravati, M Mahender Reddy representing Kandukur exercised his right to vote in Hyderabad. It seems that 151 MLAs of YSRCP have cast their vote, with State Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy cast his vote first.

As soon as the voting was over at 5 pm, the ballot box of the votes cast in the state is sealed and preserved in the strong room in the presence of Election Observers Chandrakar Bharti, State Chief Electoral Officer Mukesh Kumar Meena and Assistant Returning Officer K. Raj Kumar. And this was said to be sent to Parliament House in Delhi on Tuesday morning.
