Kangana Ranaut lands in another controversy

Directed by Kangana Ranaut, the Emergency film had herself in the lead role. Interesting is that Kangana is playing the role late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in the film.

Touted as the story of a very important moment in the political history of India, the film deals with the internal emergency that she declared on June 25, 1975.

The film has now fallen into controversy. The congress leaders of Madhya Pradesh stated that Kangana took up the role to tarnish the image of Indira Gandhi at the behest of the ruling party. They also want to watch the film before its release. Few other party leaders from other states have also raised objections.

For the unversed, Kangana already acted in a few biographies like Thalaivi, in which she played the role of Late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha, and Manikarnika, in which she is seen in the role of Jhansi Lakshmibai of Jhansi.
