Central Government Plans Bharatha Ratna to NTR?

The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) has once again emphasized its demand for the late NT Rama Rao, the founder of the party and former Chief Minister of the united Andhra Pradesh, to be posthumously honored with the Bharat Ratna, India's highest civilian award. The latest developments reveal that the central government is considering the request.

The cabinet is meeting today and one of the agendas to be discussed is on giving 'Bharata Ratna' to NTR. BJP is in alliance with TDP and Janasena in Andhra Pradesh. If everything goes well, Modi might make an announcement on Bharata Ratna for NTR in a public meeting on the 17th of this month.

TDP Rajya Sabha member Kanakamedala Ravindrakumar has penned separate letters to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah earlier, for the same.

With the elections scheduled in Andhra Pradesh, the discussion has popped up now and there are some positive vibes in the air for the same. If the announcement comes out, it will be a big boost for the alliance of TDP-BJP-JSP in AP.
