Importing actresses from neighboring states is not at all new to Tollywood. Right from bygone beauties like B Saroja till yesteryear pretty ladies like Radha and 90s era Soundarya, most of them hailed down the south. Telugu People admired and respected them as own and kept them in top league of heroines.

But that trend slowly drifted with more actresses coming from the north in between. However, the year 2016 witnessed four stunningly beautiful and talented heroines from the land of Kerala who stole our hearts with their appearances and performances.

Keerthy Suresh: While the first actress is quirky and chubby Keerthy Suresh who made her presence felt in the love story Nenu Sailaja. She is the daughter of yesteryear Tamil heroine Menaka and producer Suresh Kumar. Keerthy Suresh made her filmy debut with Malayalam film Pilots in the year 2000 as a child artist at the age of 8yrs. She turned a heroine with Priyadarshan’s Geethanjali movie in 2013 and shot to fame within no time. She is currently busy with 3 big films in Tamil and might soon bag many but she’ll remain in the hearts of Telugu youth as ‘Sailaja’.

Anupama Parameshwaran: She is rather popular as ‘Mary George’ for the Malayalam youth. In what can be called a life-changing debut with Premam movie, Anupama did not look back. On top of it, Trivikram’s A..Aa got her close to Telugu audience as well. She currently has Telugu Premam, Shathamanam Bhavathi, Yevado Okadu & Dhanush’s Kodi movies in her kitty.

Nivetha Thomas: She earned maximum fans with her persona and performance in Nani’s Gentleman. This 21yr old graceful actress is the latest heartthrob now. Well Gentleman was her debut film but she was initially considered for Sharwanand’s Juliet – Lover of Idiot – a project that shelved last year. Even Nivetha forayed into film industry as a child artist with 2002 Malayalam movie Uthara and was later popular for her performances in films like Poraali, Jilla & Kamal Haasan Paapanasam (Tamil Drishyam).

Dhansika: Now, this brilliant actress made pixie cut a trend with her stylish appearance as Rajni’s daughter in the latest release Kabali. This 26yr actress is a proven talent with acclaimed performances in Tamil films like Aaravan, Paradesi et al.

Each of these brilliant actresses made a unique effect on Tollywood and redefined the way female leads are portrayed in Telugu films. She won our hearts with their charm and acting prowess as well. Hope they keep us entertaining ever more!
