Veteran comedian Gundu Hanumantha Rao, known for his iconic character 'Anjaneyulu' in the TV serial Amrutham, passed away at the age of 61. Gundu Hanumantha Rao was suffering from kidney related ailments. He was being treated for his heart and kidney problems.
Gundu Hanumantha Rao breathed his last in the wee hours at his residence in SR Nagar, Hyderabad. Tollywood film fraternity and the Movie Artistes Association have expressed their condolences. The final rites of Gundu Hanumantha Rao are likely to take place at Erragadda Burial Ground.
Gundu Hanumantha Rao made his film debut in the year 1987 with Jandhyala's movie Aha Naa Pellanta. He appeared in nearly 400 movies, but he became very close to the Telugu audience with his appearance in TV serial AMRUTHAM. Gundu Hanumantha Rao was facing financial crisis lately and was helped by the state government. Mega Star Chiranjeevi also helped him with his hospital expenses. It is a very sad thing that he is no more. His entertainment and comedy timing will be remembered.
