2013 had a great family festival season - Thanks to the multi-starrer Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu featuring two big heros Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu as brothers in a family. The film arrived in Tollywood at a juncture when there has been repetitive comedy, urbane themes, item songs and meaningless high budget action films.
Why is it so?
Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu is a realistic story of a typical Telugu household. We don’t see stars but characters alone. Venkatesh’s mellowed down performance, Mahesh Babu’s vivaciousness and his chemistry with Samantha, Anjali’s earthly characterization made the film rock steady. The small arguments between two different families were shown in a less dramatic manner and the film took the audience back to the simple pleasures of life. Beautiful locations of Godavari area were shown greatly by Sreekanth Addala, and the film was highly entertaining because of less dramatic moments throughout. Mahesh Babu- who was already in the high energy zone with Dookudu and Businessman delivered a great performance as a typical youngster hailing from the Godavari region. Music by Mickey. J. Mayers is another asset for the film with breezy melody tracks.
