Superstar Mahesh Babu almost looked like invincible at the box office with back to back success. 1-Nenokkadine which released early in the year got good critical acclaim even though it failed. Mahesh attempted a Pakka Mass Masala in the form of Aagadu in the second half of the year and every one were certain of its success. The movie has witness tremendous hype in audience as well as trade. But the bubble got burst after the release. The actor director duo who delivered a blockbuster like Dookudu, just managed a dud with uncanny resemblances
to Gabbar Singh.
Somehow the movie garnered bad talk more than it deserved. The buyers collapsed with heavy loss and fans were shattered with the bitter failure. The film made with Rs 70+ Crore budget could only do Rs 45+ Crore business. Adding insult to injury, the rifts within the movie unit Vaitla and Prakash Raj,Vaitla and Kona Venkat were wide open and went on till they abused each other in media. Aagadu is certainly the most forgettable debacle in 2014.
