ANR Hobbies and Health Tips

ANR is best known for his health tips and great lifestyle habits. His lifestyle truely inspire one and all. When asked about it, ANR always says his "happiness" is the secret of his health.

Food habits:

Whenever his shootings were was outside Hyderabad, he used to have an exclusive cook for his food. If it was in Madras, he never used to have food from a hotel but instead got it from Jagapathi Rajendra Prasad’s (Owner of Jagapathi Art Pictures) residence or from Shantakumari’s house.

He had his first bypass operation in 1974 during the filming of Bapu’s Andala Ramudu. Even the illness was discovered under peculiar circumstances - when he had to rescue a kid by jumping into the River Godavari. After the surgery, it is said that he used to have a peg of brandy as ssuggested by the doctors every day for his good health.

ANR's daily diet includes only one serving of phulka and omelet. He has an organic vegetable garden where he grows vegetables and has the same in his food too. A regular morning walker until quite recently, ANR always believed in 'contentment' being the secret of good health.

Recently when ANR was diagnosed with Intestinal Cancer, he did not lose his hope and said that he would fight for his good health till the end.  His tremendous spirit in being healthy is one of the greatest health tip which anybody can always follow.

Hobbies:

Coming to Hobbies, ANR is an avid reader of books and has vast knowledge in almost every topic. He was introduced to book reading by Malladi Ramakrishna Sastry and Chakrapani. Chakrapani gave ANR Sharatbabu’s novels like Devadasu and Baatasari in order to get a feel of the characters. He developed his diction and Telugu language with the help of late Ramakrishna husband of actor late Bhanumathi].

ANR is also interested in gardening and simply loves to be surrounded by greenery all over.  He is always interested in learning new things and happenings all over the world. Being a school dropout, he was so determined to learn English by himself and in this regard he was a self made man. He is extremely fluent in Tamil and Hindi as well.
