Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao is undoubtedly the only actor in Indian Cinema who played the maximum number of devotional, mythological and historical roles. In fact, there is no exaggeration in saying that the image he created for himself is no less than a God. Even today, he raced ahead of all the existing stars of Indian Cinema and stood number one in CNN survey of INDIA’S GREATEST ACTOR OF ALL TIMES.

NTR played the famous role of Sri Krishna Devaraya in two films. First it was in the film Tenali Rama Krishna (1956) and later in the film Mahamantri Timmarusu (1962). Years later, in the film Aditya 369 (1991), NTR ’s son, Balakrishna attempted the same role of Krishna Devaraya and managed to pull it off successfully. The role is credited as one of the biggest milestones of the actor’s career. In the next generation it was Srikanth who reprised the epic role in his recent flick Devaraya (2013) which he actually couldn’t prove up to the snuf.

Interestingly, the role of Krishna Devaraya in all the three films stated above was only a supporting role despite big stars playing them.
