Srinivas (Mahesh Babu) just returns to India and joins a college in Hyderabad. And after some initial thamasha, he falls in love with Shrivalli (Saakshi Sivanand). Vamsi (Venkat) is Srivalli's best friend and holds him close to her heart as when a plane crashed 20 years backs, these two are the only survivors of the tragedy. Finally Srinivas and Srivalli decide to take their relation to the next level with a lavish engagement ceremony. Exactly, then Sri latha (Simran) arrives. And the bitter past between Srinivas and Srivalli gets revealed. The rest of the story is about who Srilatha is and what happens to Vamsi's love.

  • Trade

Mahesh carried a boyish look during the initial part of his career. But, ironically he was portrayed as a father of a young boy in the movie. Somehow, this did affect the movie’s fate and it remained a flop in Mahesh’s career.
  • Highlights

    • This is the first combination of Mahesh and Simran. Sakshi Sivanand acted as the second heroine. Both of them did not get any other chances to work with Mahesh again.
    • Mahesh Babu and Y.V.S. Chowdary joined hands for the first time for this project.
  • Sidelights

    • This film gave Mahesh Babu the tag "Prince", as ‘Yuvaraju’ means Prince. Incidentally, his first movie was titled 'Raja Kumarudu' which also means Prince.
    • Some of shots in the second half are straight lifts from Jab Pyar Kisi Se Hota Hain.
