Sunitha Upadrashta is best known for her sweet singing voice, dubbing voice for majority of heroines in Tollywood, and sparkling smile in her appearances. She dubbed for a staggering 750 films in her career- becoming the only singer who worked as a dubbing artist for such a long period.

Sunitha was born to a musically inclined family hailing from Guntur area of Andhra Pradesh. Right to the family backdrop, she started her training in Carnatic music from Pemaraju Surya Rao and Light Music from Kalaga Krishna Mohan at a very early age. She turned a playback singer when she was 16 years old for Gulabi - first directorial venture of Krishna Vamsi.  Sashi Preetam composed music and the song was Ee Velalo Neevu.  The song became such a big hit that it became one of the popular melodies in Tollywood ever. Since then, Sunitha worked with many prominent music directors in South India right from Ilaiyaraaja, Vidyasagar to Keeravani, Mani Sharma and S.S.Thaman as well.  She sang nearly 3000 songs in her career including other languages like Kannada and Tamil.

As a dubbing artist, Sunitha is termed as one of the best people in Telugu Cinema. Her modulation, histrionics are expressed so brilliantly through her voice making her the most talented dubbing artist ever. Films like Choodalani Undhi (Soundarya), Jayam (Sada), Anand (Kamalinee Mukherjee), Indra (Sonali Bendre), Okariki Okaru (Aarti Chabria), Godavari (Kamalinee Mukherjee) and Sri Rama Rajyam (Nayanatara) were highly successful for the brilliant dubbing by Sunitha for the female leads in them.

She earned several awards for her singing and dubbing consistently all over the years. A die-hard fan of Mohammad Rafi, Sunitha is highly passionate about music and performing at her personal best in every programme she appears.  She even hosted many musically valuable shows such as Jhummandhi Naadam and as a judge in Super Singer show.
