Adding fuel to the fact that Corruption is omnipresent, a corrupt Censor board member has been caught by the ACB today.
Going into the details, Srinivasa Rao, the member of the regional censor board has been caught red-handed by ACB (Anti-Corruption Bureau) today. This officer has been reportedly demanding producers Rs 10,000 for U/A certificate and Rs 1 Lakh for a clean U certificate. The producer of a yet-to-release Telugu film Andala Chandamama film was also demanded the same but the producer has sought the help of ACB. The censor officer was strategically busted by ACB with the help of the producer.
The censor board was touted to be the most stringent and rigid under former Censor board Chairperson Smt. Dhanalakshmi and few filmmakers have breathed a sigh of relief once she left. Amidst allegations of censor board being liberal post Dhanalakshmi reign, the latest corruption incident is raising new doubts over the effective functioning of our censor board.
