It was nothing short of a festival today for the cine buffs as all of them were waiting for the much talked about Rudramadevi and thronged the theatres. While entering the theaters, all expected an insight on the Kakatiya dynasty and how this warrior queen brought glory and fame to the Telugu pride.

However, all of them were also in for a shock right at the first few minutes. The reason being, it showed an Italian connection. Well, most of you may not be aware of it but then during Rudhramadevi’s reign, she was visited by the world famous Italian traveler and merchant Marco Polo.

He was impressed by the rule of Rudhrama and wrote about it in his book ‘The Travels Of Marco Polo’. This was an interesting angle that director Gunasekhar added to the project and in fact, the narrative happens from his side only. The icing on the cake is, the voiceover for Marco Polo was given by none other than megastar Chiranjeevi.
