Though it is considered illegal, the cockfight ritual has been on since ages in the coastal Andhra side. This happens extensively during the Sankranthi festival wherein Bheemavaram and other surrounding regions are considered hot beds for watching this event.
Lakhs and crores of rupees is put at stake during this season and now there is news that the Tollywood celebrities are also making their plans. However, they are going silently and secretly for various reasons. Firstly, it would be like they are endorsing this ritual which is trouble.
Secondly, if the crowds know the celebrities are coming they start flocking that place and this will cause security issues. Despite this, some of them are planning their visit in a systematic way. As it is, a large part of Tollywood hails from those regions only.
