Defending Champions Telugu Warriors started the CCL season 6 on a winning note and they have announced loud and clear that are going to defend their title this season too.
Tournament hot favorites Telugu Warriors played its first match against Kerala Strikers at Bengaluru- Chinnaswamy Stadium the other day & won its first battle conveniently. Telugu Warriors won the toss and Captain Akhil Akkineni chose to field first. TW could successfully restrict Kerala Strikers to just 148 runs in 20 overs taking 9 wickets.
Telugu Warriors initially fumbled in their chase losing the early wicket of its star batsman Prince and later Sachiin Joshi. But Sudheer Babu along with Akhil placed the innings on right track and eventually Ashwin Babu finished off things in style chasing the target with 11 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand.
Sudheer Babu was named as the Man of The Match for his spell binding knock of 51 runs (48 balls). Telugu Warriors will play their next match with another hot favorite Chennai Rhinos next January 31 (Sunday).
