When winning acceptance from the audience is an acid test for many, Niharika Konidela’s debut was not about it. She’s already a proven talent – due credits to her versatile stint in television and web. Now it was all about a distinguished platform to fly and when the young starlet was in pursuit of the same, miraculously character ‘Sandhya’ (for Oka Manasu) chose her!
‘Sandhya’ is a girl-next-door yet a pure soul whose love is equally pure and ardent but not mundane! Importantly she is diametrically opposite to Niharika and her previous work. But director Ramaraju saw Sandhya in Niharika and eventually ‘Sandhya’ knocked Niharika’s doors.
Here’s why Niharika Konidela stands apart from the rest and proved she’s an actor before a starlet. Despite the luxury of moving on, Niharika chose to welcome Sandhya which marks the first sign of a unique debut.
Now she heard Sandhya’s story, befriended her, understood the intricacies of the character eventually imbibing the soul of it like none. Today after watching the film, Niharika was fresh as a daisy and the way she adeptly brought ‘Sandhya’ alive on the silver screen with such elegance is sheer brilliance! From the couture to character, Niharika approached the role with earnest sincerity and got into the skin of the character throughout with aplomb and poise. Besides this, portraying the depths and greys of a motley role is absolutely challenging and debutante Niharika was exceptional.
Between fans expectations and an unusual debut opportunity - it was a tough and tangled call for any debutante. But nonetheless to say Niharika aced the test making her family and fans proud alike!
