You know well that a lot is being spoken about the recent release Arjun Reddy and some have already begun tagging it as a trendsetting cult blockbuster which has repeated the phenomena of the movie Shiva that came in 1989. Well, now it looks like the hype is unwanted.
There is no doubt the film has created an impact but not before it has found its own inspiration from a Hollywood flick. Those who have seen the movie Flight have drawn similarities with Arjun Reddy. In the 48th minute Denzel Washington is seen as an alcoholic.
During the 55th minute, a lawyer is arranged to bail Denzel out, in Arjun Reddy Priyadarsi plays the lawyer’s role and every scene is repeated exactly in the same way like the Hollywood flick. Similarly, in another scene cocaine is stuffed in the cigarette and Denzel is made to take a puff to wake him up.
This is done to take him to court and the same thing is lifted and shifted in Arjun Reddy as well. Last but not the least, even the court scene during the 2nd hour and 5th minute is as it is taken from ‘Flight’ and put in Arjun Reddy. Vijay Deverakonda confesses that he drank and smoke and these are exactly the same scenes as Denzel did in Flight. Given the so many lifts and shifts we can once again be rest assured that Tollywood is yet to come out of Hollywood influence.
