Whenever period movies come, they carry a heritage value and it is important for such genre of movies to come because today’s generation immersed in social media and smartphones needs to have an inkling of their past. The only way that can happen is when the film industry comes up with such kind of movies.
One movie which is now being put into that category is ‘Mahanati’, the biopic on the legendary actress Savitri. We have already reported how some fabulous sets were erected at the famous Ramoji Film City and now some cine seniors are saying these sets should not be dismantled as they contain a tourism value.
Of course, it all depends on the film’s hit factor and how it performs at the box office. Presently, the film has got a very positive vibe and if it clicks with the audience, just like how the magnum opus ‘Baahubali’s sets have that value, ‘Mahanati’ can be another one. As such, it is coming in Telugu and Tamil so it does have value in south India.
