Isha Koppikar, who romanced with Akkineni Nagarjuna for Krishnavamsi’s directorial Chandralekha, joined Bharatiya Janata Party recently. And she is getting ready to contest in upcoming elections, which may schedule for summer.
An interesting thing is an actress approached by BJP top leaders recently for the campaign across India, especially in Telugu states as she is popular with Telugu cinemas also. In Telugu, Isha Koppikar is not much popular but cine glamour can attract voters, one of the BJP activists said. After Chandralekha and Prematho Ra Isha Koppikar took a big break from Telugu films and after a long gap, she did a film Kesava, in which Nikhil portrayed main lead and Isha appeared as a police officer.
In the meantime, Madhavi Latha and Reshma Rathod are already active in BJP. In the recent Telangana assembly elections, Reshma Rathod contested from BJP but failed to attract voters.
