Last month, Suresh Productions has announced that Dhanush starrer ‘Asuran’ will be remade in Telugu with Victory Venkatesh. Noted Producer Suresh Babu has bagged the remake rights of this action drama and he will bankroll it along with Kalaippuli S Thanu. Currently, Venkatesh is working with Naga Chaitanya for ‘Venky Mama’ and soon after that, the star hero is expected to work with ‘Pellichoopulu’ fame Tharun Bhaskar. After the remake of Asuran was announced, speculations emerged that Tharun himself will direct it in Telugu. The rumors have also indicated several director names for this remake.
Meanwhile, we have one more interesting update on this remake. Among the list of directors who are in consideration for this remake, the makers are more likely to zero-in on Andala Rakshasi fame Hanu Raghavapudi.
After Andala Rakshasi, Hanu made Padi Padi Leche Manasu in a very natural realistic way. The makers feel that Asuran also requires similar treatment without disturbing the essence of the story, so they have reportedly chosen Hanu. An official announcement in this regard will be made soon. Also, this remake is going to be a milestone film in Venkatesh’s career. As Venky Mama is Victory Venkatesh’s 73rd film, his next project with Tharun Bhascar will be 74th film. So, Asuran remake is his 75th movie.
