Amazon Prime, Hotstar, Netflix, and other streaming services are major sources of entertainment during an ongoing lockdown period. While theatres remain closed and shootings are unlikely to start soon, OTT platforms are offering a great amount of entertainment with films and web series. These platforms are not just focussed on increasing content by directly acquiring films that are ready for theatrical release, but they are also planning to make and produce original content in Telugu.
According to the latest reports, Prime has added Teja to the list of directors who are creating great digital content for the platform. The versatile director well known for his technical brilliance has signed a deal to associate with three web series and an exclusive film for the streaming giant.
While Teja is expected to write a story for one web series, he'll direct the second web series and will be monitoring/looking after the third one. Amazon is planning to foray into Telugu cinema production. As part of their business plan, Prime has signed a deal with director Teja in the first place.
Once the lockdown is lifted, we may get more clarity on what kind of films Prime is going to make and how they will begin the journey in TFI.
