Ponmagal Vandham is the film that became the talk of the town in the Kollywood film industry. With the announcement of skipping the theatrical release, the movie caused anger to the exhibitors. But, the film's producer Suriya stated that he will not step back on his decision. Jyothika starrer will release on Amazon Prime Video on the 29th of this month.

Tamilnadu and Kerala theatres associations have issued statements of boycotting Suriya's upcoming releases in the theatres. A stubborn Suriya also made his mind and took a decision now which is creating ripples in the film industry.

According to the Kollywood sources, Suriya decided to release all his upcoming films (as a producer) directly on OTT platforms. Suriya is also ready to have the films he acts to have a release on digital platforms.

Although theatre associations have issued a statement in anger, Suriya seems to have taken it personally. Certainly, the films he acts in will have to hit the theatres before making way to online platforms.

However, in some days, a compromise might strike between both the parties.
