Gunasekhar is one of the star directors in the film industry. The sensational filmmaker delivered successful commercial blockbusters in the past. The director is currently busy with Shakuntalam, starring Samantha in the lead role. Meanwhile, he has given clarity on the long-pending projects Gona Ganna Reddy, Prataparudra, and Hiranyakashyapa. Talking in special interviews, on the occasion of his birthday, Gunasekhar revealed that he will not be doing any film based on Gona Ganna Reddy as he finds no scope.

At the same time, he confirmed that both Prataparudra and Hiranyakashyapa will hit the floors. According to him, he will do Hiranyakashyapa after Shakuntalam and start the shoot for Prataparudra after finishing Hiranyakashyapa. Rana Daggubati plays the lead role in Hiranyakashyapa and Prataparudra is the sequel for the super hit film Rudramadevi that released in 2015.

For now, Gunasekhar's full focus is only on Shakuntalam. More details on his lineup of films will be out soon.
