Nandamuri Balakrishna wanted to test his luck as a director but he missed the chance a couple of times in the past. When director Teja walked out of the NTR biopic, Balayya Babu planned to helm the two-part film but Krish Jagarlamudi took that responsibility.

In a recent interview, Balakrishna hinted at making his directorial debut with his son's debut, Aditya 999. The film will begin only after he wraps up films with Boyapati Srinu, Gopichand Malineni, and Anil Ravipudi.

Earlier, Balakrishna wanted to do a film on Buddha but he dropped the plan as there are films already, on a similar subject. Later, he planned to take up direction for a couple of other films but things did not work then.

With time, plans can certainly change and we have to see if Balakrishna can score a hit with his directorial debut.
