Mani Ratnam is undoubtedly one of the most popular filmmakers not only in Tamil and Telugu but also in Hindi cinema. The director in his three-and-a-half decades-long career has delivered some masterpieces. A couple of years ago, the star director planned to do a film with none other than Superstar Mahesh Babu.

Though the fans got super excited to see the crazy combo, the film didn’t get materialized. Now, the ace director has announced that he is still willing to work with the 'Sarileru Neekevarru' actor. “I was supposed to do a movie with Mahesh Babu. But it did not work out. If I get a good story, I would love to collaborate with the Superstar.” said Mani Ratnam.

Interestingly, there are speculations that Mani Ratnam approached Mahesh Babu for his dream project Ponniyin Selvan. The actor was busy and could not allocate the dates for the film. However, the director is planning to get Mahesh on board to play a cameo. We have to see if Mahesh accepts the same.
