There is no stopping for Kantara at the Tollywood box office. After becoming a successful venture in Kannada, the film was released in Telugu on October 15. Since its release, it is having a sensational run in Telugu states. None of the Diwali releases was able to stop the rampage of Kantara.

Among the Diwali releases, only Vishwak Sen's Ori Devuda and Karthi's Sardar were able to gain a good response from the audience. Though they performed well during the weekends, the weekday collections are pretty low. On the other side, Kantara is ruling the box office on both weekdays and weekends.

Many theatres have now removed Diwali releases and are playing back Kantara. Various multiplexes have also increased the shows of this mystic thriller. Until now, Kantara collected a gross of more than Rs. 38 crores and a share of around Rs. 20 crores from the Telugu states. It is declared a 'Quadruple Blockbuster'.

Kantara is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. He is also the lead hero in it. The movie is bankrolled by Hombale Films.
