Samantha Ruth Prabhu-starrer Shaakuntalam has been facing release woes for a long time. It was initially supposed to release on November 4. However, the makers postponed the release to February 17 due to a delay in post-production works.
The theatrical trailer was released in January and got a poor response from the audience. People criticized the amateur VFX work in the film. Thus, the trailer couldn't generate any hype for the movie. Later, the makers pushed the release from February 17 to April 14.
But now, it looks like there are very bleak chances of it hitting the screens even on April 14. Apparently, director Gunasekhar is not satisfied with the output of a few scenes and he wants to reshoot them. It seems that he also took the VFX backlash seriously and want to come up with better graphics.
