Musical 'Mass- Class' Balance - Jadoogadu Audio Review

Jadoogadu is an upcoming romantic entertainer starring Oohalu Gusagusalaade fame Naga Shourya and Sonarika Bhadoria in lead roles. This film marks the debut for Sagar Mahati as a composer and he is the son of talented music composer Mani Sharma who gave some chartbusters in Tollywood. Here is an iQlik exclusive audio review of the album:

The album begins with the title track Jadoogadu with modern sounding and Jazz styled vocals.  The overall sounding is quite fresh and appealing and has good chord progression levels. However, the excessive sequencing in the interludes pales down the track by little bit.

Gola Cheddame is a fashionable number with funky rap vocals and impressive sequencing touches. The tune has good fancy style and gripping rhythm section adds to it. Usage of clarinet and harmonica in the first interlude is indeed a good attempt. The composer Sagar Mahati retains his father’s mass flavours in terms of presentation for this track.

Digitization takes new turn with ABC ABC – an upbeat modern composition with metallic prelude and catchy tune. The funky prelude paves the way for a breezy duet with chill out rhythm and bass work. Interludes are neatly woven around relaxing ambience and timely bass guitar strokes.

Kadha Mudhirega has an apparent hangover of Mani Sharma’s typical introduction songs earlier but retains a novel touch in terms of presentation. However, the overall impact of the composition is remarkably good and entertaining. The interludes take a trip to yesteryear Cow Boy era tossed in modern bass strokes.

It is time for a finale with an out and out party number Maasugadu with various House mix traces and vertigo styled sequencing. Interludes take the front seat with enjoyable harmonium and string section.  This track manages to create a decent impact and mass appeal as it progresses by.

Verdict:

Jadoogadu marks a promising debut for Sagar Mahati as a young music composer of Tollywood. The album has ample balance between funky numbers and melodies. However, the excess influence of his father’s style of presentation in songs should have been minimized.
