Is Acharya a real-life story?

The expectations on Megastar Chiranjeevi's upcoming film 'Acharya' are sky-high. Directed by Koratala Siva, the fans are eagerly waiting to watch the flick on silver screens again.

The makers have initially decided to give a theatrical release to 'Acharya' on the occasion of Sankranthi. But later postponed it to February. However, the makers have also announced that the film got postponed indefinitely which came out as a disappointment for the fans. Now, an interesting thing about the film is doing rounds on the internet. 'Acharya' will also join the Sankranti race. the story is based on a real-life incident that took place in 1977 in Srikakulam and the film is based on a novel 'Subbarao Panigrahi'. For the uninitiated, Subbarao used to fight against the landlords who illegally occupy temple lands. A couple of Naxalites also supported him at that time. It seems like 'Acharya' is based on his life story.

Ram Charan in association with Matinee Entertainments is producing the film. Also, Ram Charan is playing a crucial role in the flick. Kajal Agarwal is the female lead and Pooja Hegde will be seen romancing Ram Charan in the film.
