The first election of its kind for TFCC was organized in Hyderabad on Saturday. Mr. Suresh Babu and his panel members came out with a sweeping victory in short. Election after a long time

The election which was supposed to happen was put in a halt by quite a few issues. For nearly two years, the film industry saw the organization suspend its elections over different and major issues. There was a massive difference of opinion in terms of changing its name. The members who belonged to the Telangana State Film Chamber opined that the film trade body that is the representive of Telengana state’s film industry should be theirs only. It meant a necessary change in terms of name for the organization from Andhra Pradesh State Film Chamber of Commerce to the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce. As the finality dawned upon the organization, new decisions and new elections were on the cards.

New way of operation

Apart from the election, the executive committee of the TFCC that had met during the end week of June also decided that the new body that’ll be formed would have a term of two years unlike the one year tenure that has been the trend so far. Hence, it is evident that the organization is going to be operated in a new manner with different attitude than the previous. The decision was taken to give time to the body in terms of taking new initiatives for fostering development through all strata of the film industry and also to continue them in a constructive manner to achieve their destined targets.

The new faces

The film chamber boasts of some new faces with its huge force. As many as 1,500 members belong to this organization with four different sectors as their origin. The producers, exhibitors, distributors and studio owners come together in this organization. Each and every member participated in this election hurdle as Suresh Babu and Narayana Das, the owner of Asian films went head to head for the presidential post. For the distribution sector, the renowned producer Sudhakar Reddy and his panel tried their luck for the sector’s leadership. T. Prasanna Kumar and Natti Kumar took the axe as rebel candidates. Even in a favorable atmosphere all around, the Telengana members are creating a hue and cry over monopoly of AP producers in terms of decision of exhibition in the two states.
