After 27 years, the dynamic duo couple Kamal Hasan and Amala Akkineni will be sharing the screen!
The superstar of South Kamal Hasan is ready to team up with the wife of Akkineni Nagarjuna, Amala in his upcoming film. The forthcoming film will be directed by the National Award winner dynamic director T K Rajeev Kumar. The title of the film is not yet decided. Amala Akkineni will be featuring as the lead female character in the film. The film will be dubbed in both Tamil and Telegu languages. This breaking news was revealed at the music launch of “Cheekati Rajyam” on 3rd November, in Hyderabad. Cheekati Rajyam is the next movie of Kamal Hasan.
Kamal and Akkineni set the magic without using words in their films
The great duo Kamal Hasan and Amala Akikineni previously worked together in the films “Pesum Padam” and “Pushpaka Vimanam”, both in the year 1987. After 27 years they will be seen together on screen. Kamal Hasan is very excited as they are sharing the screen for the third time and he also told the Hyderabad Times press that this movie is of different genre for him. He will be seen in a new avatar and he is glad to work with Amala after 27 years.
Kamal Haasan also revealed in another press conference that the senior Bollywood actress Zarina Wahab would be a key important character in the film. He also revealed that a new actress will be seen in the movie too. He revealed to 123 Telegu that the film will be shot in both the languages. Their last film Pushpaka Vimanam was the first silent Indian feature film. The film not only won the hearts of the audience but also the critics. It is listed under hundred greatest Indian films of CNN IBN. The film also won one National Award and two Filmfare awards.
On 2013, Kamal Hasan’s film Pesum Padam was featured in the International Film Festival in Shangai. After 25 years also the film had the magical impact in the minds of the viewers. Singeetam Srinivasa Rao directed the film. The silent film Pushpaka Vimana also gained lots of international accreditation in the year 1988, Cannes Film Festival.
The film has bagged the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, and Filmfare Award South for the Best Film.
Kamal Hasan’s and Amala Akkineni’s few recent projects
Kamal Hasan’s next movie venture Cheekati Rajyam will be released in Tamil as “Thoongavanam”. During the Diwali session that is on 12th November the Tamil version will be released. After Diwali, on 20th November the Telegu version will be released.
The bilingual movie is the remake of the famous French Film, “Sleepless Night” (Nuit Blanche).
Amala Akkineni was last featured on the recent Bollywood film, “Hamari Adhuri Kahani” staring Vidya Balan and Imran Hashmi. In the Zee Tamil’s medical serial “Uyirmai” Amala Akkineni was featured. The soap opera started on 24th November 2014 and went off air on 30th January 2015. The soap opera featured 112 episodes. Right now Amala Akkineni is not holding any other projects except the upcoming film with Kamal Hasan. The audience as well as the critics will be waiting eagerly for the upcoming movie venture.
