The magnum opus Baahubali is progressing briskly with its shooting and the latest update is that the team has gone to Bulgaria for shooting. This has raised a discussion among a few as to what is the need for going to such a far country. Well, there is a very valid reason behind this trip.
It is heard that some critical scenes are required to be shot in the backdrop of maize fields. Initially, the team had looked at Ramoji Film City for doing it but due to the recent unexpected rains, the maize field got washed off and it is no longer lush. But in Bulgaria, those fields are in a very healthy shape as per the requirement.
It’s just not that but few locations in Bulgaria are perfect for war sequences as well. Doesn’t this remind you of Hollywood films like Gladiator, 300 wherein few key scenes are shot on Maize field backdrops? Well, it looks like the tough taskmaster SS Rajamouli who is helming the project is determined to make Tollywood an answer to Hollywood.
