Avg. User Rating: 3/5

Plot:

Madhumita (Amyra Dastur), a professional gamer who often transcends from her previous births and reality, recollects the memories of her failure love stories in those lives. And how did Ashwin (Dhanush), Madhu’s love interest in the present life (and her previous lives as well) help her take head on with their villain Kiran (Karthik) and avenge their love failure forms the crux of the story.

Performances:

Dhanush: He is one star actor who can get under the skin of any character at ease. Dhanush shines in this film with three different roles and it was indeed a cake walk for an impeccable actor like him. He carries the entire film upon his shoulders and keeps you glued with his all-round performance.

Amyra Dastur: If you are looking for someone who is hot, cute and a splendid actor at the same time then Amyra is the one. She was fortunate to get a plummy offer like Anegan at a very early stage of her career and Amyra absolutely nails it down.

Karthik: You might assume Karthik is done with his reign but this acting great makes a grand comeback as a Perfect Antagonist. This is the comeback season of former heroes as villains and Karthik makes his own signature.

Aashish Vidyarthi: He plays yet another crucial role in the film adding value to this revenge drama.

Direction:

KV Anand is a master at telling complicate stories in the most simplest and entertaining way possible. Three different timelines, three love stories and the commercial elements to serve – it was indeed a herculean task for the filmmaker. But KV Anand handles the job pretty well with an engaging screen play. Of course the pace of the second half and the overload of content can bother the average cinegoer but the captivating performances of Dhanush, Amyra, Karthik & Ashish Vidyarthi hold your attention.

With its share of flaws, this is a love story of two individuals over three generations waiting to succeed. The locales in which these love stories are set up might be new to our Telugu audience and the constant juggling between past and present might bother but love should make the time travel comfortable.

Merits:
- Lead performances of Dhanush, Amyra Dastur, Karthik & Ashish Vidyarthi
- The engaging narration though out the film.
- The heart-warming flashback episodes.
- Top-notch cinematography and art direction.

De-merits:
- The screenplay can at times test your patience as well.
- Unlike Tamil dubbing films of recent times, the dialogues still sound outlandish and bland.

Music:

Harris Jayaraj caters to the needs of the story and gives an impressive album. His back ground score add to flavor and intensity of the film.

Others:

As usually, Art direction in this KV Anand’s film was also splendid. Production values were also grand.

Verdict:

Anekudu is a different film which can provide you the right breeze of relief. You can watch it for Dhanush, Amyra and all the captivating drama.
