A Good Paisa Vasool Sale
Plot:
Seetha (Regina Cassandra), the elder daughter of Reddappa (Suman) runs off to America to get married to her love interest Abhi (Ranadheer). On the flipside Subramanyam (Sai Dharam Tej) is a happy go-getter working in the US to support his family in India. In a course of unexpected incidents, Seetha’s wedding with Abhi eventually breaks up and she is rescued by Subramanyam. But the family problems of Subramanyam and Seetha get them together and when things appear to be rosy, Seetha gets into deep trouble once again. How did Subramanyam get locked in it and how did he unfurl the knot forms the rest of the story
Performances:
Sai Dharam Tej: The young talent not only proved that he is an able actor but also a promising star material. His energy, body language, ease, comic timing, dances and fights are impeccable. His histrionics reminds us of both Mega star and Powerstar (mostly Pawan Kalyan) – the Mega fans would love it but as an actor he can work on this aspect to develop his own style.
Regina Cassandra: She is a good actor but she has definitely upped her game and glam quotient with this film. Looking traditional yet glamorous, Regina scores with her overall performance as well!
Adah Sharma: This supporting heroine once again fitted the bill in this film. You want a short yet significant appearance, Adah can be your first choice. Looking forward to see her get a promotion!
Brahmanandam: Are you missing this star comedian these days? Well he is back as ‘Chintakai’ in this film of course not with the routine stuff.
Rao Ramesh: Give him a role of just a nanosecond yet he leaves his mark! This finest actor once again grabs your attention and makes his presence felt.
Nagababu: He plays yet another short yet significant role in this Harish Shankar film as well.
The rest of the cast including Ajay, Tejaswi Madivada, Kota Sreenivasa Rao, Fish Venkat, Gabbarsingh Gang, Thaagubothu Ramesh, Suman, give their best in this entertaining drama.
Analysis:
Finally Harish Shankar can take a deep breathe of relief! He proved that he’s not a one-time wonder & Gabbar Singh is not entirely a star’s jadoo! He cemented his place as a promising commercial director with this film.
Harish Shankar succeeds to have his mark pronounced in this film yet catering to the needs of the fans. His dialogues are witty and precise with the right punch and fortunately action, comedy, drama and songs did not go overboard. He too smartly played a safe game with subtlety and decent share of comedy!
The plot becomes predictable to any avid cine-goer but what keeps the fare engaging is the director’s narration. Of course the first half looks extended with yet another predictable interval block. When you are rightly scared that the film is hitting the clichéd path, Harish wittily pulls the wagon with some more fun and family drama. Even that eventually gets lackadaisical with the characters conveniently taking a ‘U’ turn with a single dialogue but only to wrap up the drama and bring in the much needed happy ending (fortunately with no routine out-of-the-world fights).
In a nutshell, SFS is an age old story with an energetic hero (who can dance, fight and imitate his star uncles) and on top of it, an engaging narration laced up with occasional punch dialogues, decent comedy here and there – if these can’t impress you, then Subramanyam For Sale is not your cup of tea (or coffee/whatever).
Music:
Mickey J Meyer caters to his director’s need at his best. The tunes are catchy and groovy tunes and the back ground score was decent.
Others:
Guvva Gorinkatho… song remix was shot well in an exotic locale topped up with some decent choreography and a sparkling chemistry between Sai Dharam & Regina.
Verdict:
Subramanyam For Sale is a paisa vasool offering in a boring weekend. A decent onetime watch sale with an old story yet a refreshing pitch and a commercial touch!
