Maestro Ilaiyaraaja is considered to be the one of the legendary musicians of our country and his music undoubtedly has huge fan following across the globe. He shall very soon accomplish a rare record of scoring for 1000 films in all the languages and we only wish a 1000 more to the list.

Coming to the news, he was at the 46th International Film Festival of India at Panaji (Goa) to receive the Lifetime Achievement for his work in Music and addressing the gathering at the festival, he gave a noble suggestion to the government of India to make Music as a compulsory primary subject in schools claiming it’ll reduce the rate of violence in the society.

Ilaiyaraja looked greatly moved by the recent tragedies and violence happening all over and opined that the divine power of music will heal the world and eventually violence will come down. He urged Union Minister Arun Jaitley present at the occasion to make music compulsory in schools.

Well the maestro composer certainly has a point to make! What say folks?
