There is no doubt that the literary power of the Telugu poets and scholars is out of the world. They have come up with some brilliant works in the world of literature. The same holds for the lyricists of Tollywood who have penned some immortal lines from many decades.
However, the contemporary lyricists are now facing another challenge. This is more to do with Tamil films which are coming in dubbed version. They are being asked to do literal translation of Tamil meaning and for this, the Telugu lyricists have to keep their prowess aside and work on translation job.
For some time, Anant Sriram managed to do a good job but Suddala Ashok Teja faced some challenge. Even Vanamali had a tough time for Mani Ratnam’s Kadal. The music directors are asking for Tamil nativity while penning the Telugu songs. We have to see how the lyricists are going to deal with this.
