Animal Heroes in Telugu Films!

More Stories

Hold your horses! This is nothing against our Telugu star heroes but about animals that are ruling the roost. We have witnessed Speilberg’s Jurassic Park invading us, King Kong, Godzilla and Planet of the Apes sweeping off our feet. Do you remember the days you were taken to films like Dunston Checks In in the school?

Well from an ant to an ape, English cinema has made hero out of everything. Even our Telugu cinema was inspired out of this and made animals part of their movies. For instance, SV Krishna Reddy’s Rajendrudu Gajendrudu (where elephant plays a key role), Devi (where a snake goddess is the lead) can be categorized here. After a long time, Rajamouli brought back the trend with Eega (where a housefly was the hero). Though Express Raja doesn’t blindly follow Eega, the story is about the pursuit of a dog.

And now versatile filmmaker Ravibabu dares to make a film titled Adugo where a piglet plays a lead role. Adugo is said to be a commercial film involving animatrics, animation and live action as well.

When the audiences are feeling the dire need of fresh content, the advent of stories like these is a welcoming gesture. Wishing Ravibabu & producers Suresh Productions all success with this film!
