“Annayya Sannidhi…Adey Naaku Pennidhi….” Song should be made a must-read pledge for all sisters. What say brothers?

But unlike the reality, the portrayal of brother-sister sentiment in our Telugu movies has been intense, emotional (and a bit melodramatic earlier) and has fortunately evolved over the years. However, ‘sister sentiment’ is a crucial one for us in real life especially for our Telugu heroes in their reel life. Not every hero missed a chance to make a film on sister sentiment and here are our Top Telugu heroes (right from the generation of Chiru) who had at least one popular film on ‘sister sentiment’

Megastar Chiranjeevi – Hitler (1997)

Nandamuri Balakrishna– Muddula Mavayya (1989), Samara Simha Reddy (1999)

R Narayanamurthy – Orey Rickshaw (1995)

Superstar Mahesh – Arjun (2004)

Powerstar Pawan Kalyan – Annavaram (2006)

Young Tiger Jr NTR – Rakhi (2006)

Mega Powerstar Ram Charan - Bruce Lee: The Fighter (2015)

Dr. Rajasekhar – Gorintaku (2008)

Arjun - Puttintiki Raa Chelli (2004)

Nithiin – Ishq (2012)

While Chiru’s Stalin, Mahesh’s Okkadu & Pawan’s Tholiprema also had beautiful portrayal of brother-sister bondage, heroes like Victory Venkatesh tapped this emotion in films like Ganesh, Vasu & Lakshmi etc. King Nagarjuna had a pivotal sister emotion in his all-time evergreen entertainer Hello Brother. Meanwhile Allu Arjun’s Julayi movie, Prabhas’ Darling, Raviteja’s Bhadra also have key episodes for sister roles but definitely worth escalating to the above club of movies.

On the other hand, young heroes like Nani, Raj Tarun, Sharwanand and other promising young heroes are yet to do a film on this! Hope we get to see more films on our beloved ‘sister sentiment’. Meanwhile Happy Rakshabandhan to you all!

Well we might have missed out some and you might like to add some to the list (the comments section is all yours!)
