Jayadev Story:

Jayadev (Ganta Ravi) is a powerful cop who is sincere. He investigates the murder case of a police officer Sriram (Ravi Prakash). In the process, he comes across Masthan Babu (Vinod Kumar), a criminal who has a connection with Sriram's murder. The rest of the film is all about Jayadev solving the case and successfully putting an end to Masthan Babu.

Jayadev Performances:

This is the debut for Ganta Ravi and he did his best to attract the audiences.Unfortunately, he was successful in parts. The look did not suit him and he looks good only in some particular scenes. Ganta Ravi is good in doing the emotional scenes. In the other scenes, he failed to bring his best.

The female lead of the film Malvika Raaj looks good. She did not have good performance skills but still, she tried her best to impress the audiences with her glamour in songs and the other romantic scenes. Vinod Kumar did a very good role after a long time. He impressed big time. VennelaKishore, Siva Reddy and Paruchuri Brothers did their job well. The other actors made their presence felt.

Jayadev Review:

There is always a scope for new talent in the Telugu film industry and in the same manner, Ganta Ravi, son of Andhra Pradesh Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao decided to test his luck with acting and came up with the film called Jayadev. Jayanth C Paranjee also made his comeback with this interesting film and everyone have a lot of expectations on the project and the main reason for this is that the movie made now is the official remake of the Tamil superhit film Sethupathi starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role. The makers did not change much and we can see that in the film too. More or less, the story of the film is same like that of the original.

The director tried to avoid the unnecessary risk and he came up with this film. The emotions are key for anyone who is playing a cop role and in that way, Ganta Ravi is good but he failed to perform the other important scenes. The key theme of the film is chasing down the murder mystery of a cop. The entire episode could have been shown in an interesting manner but it did not happen as expected. The romantic track between the lead actors did not impress the audiences. The on-screen chemistry between the lead actors is also a big failure.

The comedy did help the film at certain points. The dialogues of the film are very good and they really elevated the heroism. The second half of the film is better than the first half of the film. The confrontation scenes between the protagonist and the antagonist were shown very well in the movie. The songs appeared as speed breakers for the movie. The climax sequences are big let down. On a whole, the weak narration and a routine presentation brings boredom for the audiences and fails to impress.

Jayadev Technical Aspects:

Technically, the film is dull. It did not have great things. The music of Mani Sharma is a big failure. The background score of the film is just okay. The action sequences of the film were presented in a grand manner but they seem to be loud too. The nativity issue is also a major drawback for the film. The camera work is nice in the movie. The editing is okay. The artwork is good. The production values are grand and the richness is evident on the screen.

Jayadev Plus Points:

+ Dialogues
+ Few Scenes in Second Half

Jayadev Minus Points:

- Screenplay
- Slow Narration
- Music

Jayadev Verdict:

The film tries to recreate the magic of Sethupathi but fails in delivering it properly. A wasted opportunity!
