Generally, the rumours in the film industry or politics gain wide attention, but when speculation involves a leading actor and a female politician it certainly leads to a statewide debate. One such gossip was linking Young Rebel Star Prabhas and YS Sharmila (YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy's sister).

It was widely in circulation some years ago. Over the time, such rumours cooled off. But, the same rumours are rife again and Jagan's sister and her husband Anil Kumar today lodged a complaint with the Police Commissioner of Hyderabad about the same. After registering the complaint, YS Sharmila has spoken to media and she swore on her kids that she is falsely linked to Prabhas. "A false gossip about an affair involving me and Prabhas came in 2014 and the same speculation is now circulated on the social media. Few people are purposefully attempting to highlight the issue now and they are making use of social media to assassinate my character." - stated Sharmila.

Alleging that it was false propaganda by Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Telugu Desam Party, Sharmila added "Neither I had met Prabhas nor I spoke to him in my entire life. I hereby condemn all the speculations against me. Being a wife, mother and women who are bonded closely with my family members, it's agonizing to see a fake campaign against me."

Sharmila said she sees the attack on her against the entire women community. Being the sister of Andhra Pradesh opposition leader, why Sharmila had to register a complaint in Telangana? - She clarified that she does not believe in AP police and so filed a complaint with Hyderabad Police.
