Deva Katta's "Prasthanam" is one of the greatest films made in the previous decade. The award-winning performance of Sai Kumar, brilliant direction of Deva Katta & strong emotions in the story is key elements of this brilliant movie. In 2019, Prasthanam was remade in Hindi by Deva Katta himself and Sanjay Dutt has essayed the role of Sai Kumar. But, the film ended up as a big disaster. So, the director analyzed why the story which has heavily impressed audiences, critics, reviewers in Telugu failed to make a mark in B-town.

According to Deva Katta, this film should have been remade some 7 years ago. But, with Sanjay Dutt going to jail, it has been delayed for several years. Because of the long gap between original and remake, the Hindi version failed to attract viewers. A remake story has to be served hot in any language and if it gets delayed, the result will be the same as 'Prasthanam'. The result of this remake is certainly a good lesson for other filmmakers in the town.
