While there's no clarity overextension of lockdown after 17th May, the permission to resume cinema halls and film shootings seem to be on the way. According to the industry insiders, theatres may restart operations from the first week of June, and film shoots are expected to recommence from mid of June.

But, it's not going to be quite an easy task to manage a shooting set going forward. As per the guidelines from the Government of India, the film units should follow some serious COVID-19 measures on shooting location. Most importantly, the production house has to furnish a compensation of Rs 50 lakhs to the bereaved family if anyone succumbs to Coronavirus. The same guidelines are applicable for Television serial shoots too.

Some hygienic guidelines include social distancing between crew members, use of face masks and sanitizers on location, and a limited number of people on set at any time. If these guidelines have not adhered, a police case will be booked on the film producer and he will be charged with a big penalty.

Looking at all the aspects. our producers are unlikely to resume the film shoots immediately after the lockdown is lifted.
